BABIES HAVE ARRIVED!!

Oh my....what a day yesterday was!  Zoey's temperature has been running up and down for 3 days like a yo-yo.  Finally settled down to a normal 99 degrees and we just decided to relax(?) and wait her out.  It's kinda like forcing yourself not to look at water you've put on the stove to boil.  Walk away from the darned thing and kinda like insantly, you hear it boiling.
So we went into town yesterday to run a couple errands and within an hour, the cell started going off.  Keith was calling to tell me she was panting and pacing.  This was just before noon.  By the time I got home an hour or so late, she indeed was in first stages of labour.  NORMALLY this stage doesn't last too long.  Well, let me tell you.....this one lasted TOO LONG.  She was pooped and so were we, by the time the first contraction hit at 5pm.

She fiddled around a bit, but her first little GIRL arrived at 5:58pm.  Gorgeous baby.....white facial stripe from her daddy, one black spot on her body and a black area in front of her tail. (4.5oz)  Didn't take long for the next GIRL to make her appearance....6:10pm.  Another lovely TFT greeted the world.....two black body spots, black area at base of tail, no facial stripe, but still marked beautifully. (5oz)  (see them left to right in pic)
God love her, Zoey is such a lovely lady.  She takes everything in stride and LOVES babies.  Look at the expression on her face as she nurses her first two.  She is happy, content, and gets that look like all is right with the world when she has a baby or more to nurture.

Didn't take too long for the last of the three to arrive.  A few good pushes and little GIRL #3 popped into the world at 6:47pm.  Full facial blaze with white chin, one black body spot (4.5oz).
We knew we were only expecting three according to the xray taken the other day, so now we could all relax along with Mom and babies.  The rest of the dogs were having coniptions down the hall, but they had to wait till the next morning to come visit.

It was a long day and Mom was happy, but pooped.  I just couldn't cause stress on her by allowing the others to come satisfy their curiosity so soon.  Morning would come quickly enough.

Babies didn't make a peep all night and neither did the rest of the clan around here.  Including me. ;)

We've updated the LITTERBOX web page for those of you who don't have Facebook, or so you can follow along with the babies and their progress.  As well, there is a lovely new photo of DAD - "JAZ" on his web page.  Sheryl Schmidt of "Catchin The Action" Photography captured a headshot to die for of him in the Group ring on the 22nd of September at Gig Harbor KC.  You can see it on his page.

Here's the latest....taken this morning....babies are about 12 hours old.

AND...Gracie having a quick peek this morning.  The low growl coming from inside made her decision to vacate the area an easy one.  <lol>
Keep checking the LitterBox page for info and updates. I suspect ONE of these little girls is going to be heading to Fairbanks.  OR maybe their half sister, Tanya, will be going instead.  It's up in the air right now.

Have a GREAT day!  We are!!
