DAY TO DAY..........

The world is still turning and life is going on without my precious Kassidy in it any longer.  I wasn't sure it would.....but indeed, puppies need to be taken care of, other dogs have their needs, husband has to eat (I'm reasonably certain he'd starve if he had to cook for himself <lol> ), and well......as much as I dearly miss her, life is continuing.  I think it should have at least come to a temporary standstill out of respect, but again.....it's just continuing....same-o  -  same-o.

Well, not entirely.  She's not in it.  And that damned apple tree of hers hasn't died.  It's still covered in ripening fruit that I hope all fall off and rot.

Zoey is a bit better in her mourning the loss of her beloved friend.  I think possibly because she's seriously considering coming into season a couple months earlier than usual. (According to the boys' phermone sensors, anyway)  She only has one heat cycle a year and it's usually in September or October.  Not this year it seems.  It would figure, since we have two 6 week old puppies here.  That will mean back to back litters, which is NOT what I had planned.

I would be a damned fool, however,  not to breed her to Jaz after seeing the quality of these puppies we have here.  They are OUTstanding and have incredible temperaments to go with the great conformation.  They are self confident, outgoing, bold as brass and drop dead gorgeous.  Quite a combination. (Pic of them to the left was taken at 5 1/2 weeks.  They are now 6 weeks and 2 days and have advanced in leaps and bounds in that week.)   Granted that the dam contributes a lot, but when push comes to shove, Zoey is a better bitch than the puppies' mom......so I guess we'll see, eh?  Miley has done an amazing job with these two, even tho you would have thought she was a bloody vampire to every other dog in this house.  She went out of her way to be just hateful and still has her little spurts.  I know it was just over-protective, but for crying out loud, she would run the length of the house to attack and beat up anyone her little heart desired.  She got all the other dogs....including the Dobes....inhibited to the max.  Quite a feat for a 6.5pound little gal, eh?

Maybe the timing of Zoey's heat cycle is meant to keep my mind and heart occupied more than usual.  Who knows?  We have upcoming shows for Rowdy, and I think I'm going to put Jaz in for the TFT specialties in August, as well.  So this summer will be busy and life will indeed go on.

Just rambling this morning.  Had a great day yesterday visiting and shopping with a good friend.  It made the day go by faster.  Oh, and I introduced her and her dogs to dehydrated Chicken Feet.  She looked kinda blue around the gills, but the dogs loved em.  <lolol>

Off to handling class this evening with Rowdy.....still trying to get his tail up and for it to stay there.  Takes time to overcome longtime habits.  Boy, do I know that.  Eating crap food was mine and it's taken time to get past that.  63 pounds this morning.  Not much more to go.  Then I have to figure out how to add some things to my diet that will stop the weight loss, but not ADD any.  Such problems, eh?

Hope everyone's day is awesome.....that their dogs are all healthy and happy.....that the weather is lovely, and that life is good to them all.
