The Day/Week Is Promising.......so far

It's Monday.....the skies are blue, no clouds, no frost on the lawn and it's supposed to be in the 70's. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??  Is This Spring?  Don't know yet.  We'll let'cha know.  I don't trust it.  The Weather Bug says it's supposed to be nice all week.  I won't believe it till I've seen it.  A whole week without rain and chill......wow, now that's a concept!

Looks like I may be able to get my herb container garden going today or tomorrow.  I really like the fresh herbs, but sometimes they're hard to find in the grocery stores.  And SPENDY.  I think they're like $3-$4 for a little plastic container that really has more than I will use right away, so it's wasteful.  Much nicer to just dash outside, pick what I'm intending to use and get it over with.  So then.....I need to find about 4 more containers today.  I'll run down to the Farmer's Market in Longview on Tuesday and see what they have for plants.  Fun time.  IF the weather behaves.  I do want a great big container of Lavender, because it just smells sooooo good when you're sitting out on the deck in the evening watching all the dogs play.

EXCITING STUFF  -   I finished 3 Kangaraoo leads this past week, so am taking today to dash up to Madigan Army Hospital Opthamology clinic for a going-over on my eyes.  This is the first real checkup since the eye surgery last month.  Fingers are crossed all is ok, but I sure feel like I have grains of sand in my right one.  Guess we'll see.  The "Exciting Stuff" is the leads....not the bloody doctor appointment.  God Judy, you just write wierd.

The three leads were fun to do after such a long time (nearly a year) of not being able to do ANY.  The first one was pink and black Kangaroo with a special Donna Ballard custom Lampwork center bead.  It's a gift for someone from someone else, so can't say to whom or where it's going.  I would probably get killed.....or beaten up. <lol>

Here's IMAGINATION:

Second was a gorgeous combination of lace and beads.  Whiskey Brown, Apple Green and Silver, with VERY special beads from Donna Ballard's talented Lampwork torch.  This lead is shipping out this morning to Jann Sellek at Blackamber Dobermans for her lovely red Dobe bitch.  Funny thing....  when I was decided on the color scheme, I had either a red Dobe or a Golden in my mind's eye.  Karma?

Here then is  SHERWOOD FOREST:

Third lead for the week, and also shipping out to Canada this morning is ONE NIGHT IN RIO going to Sheila Morgan in Calgary for her lovely little toy Fox Terrier boy, "Jamie".  Jamie was bred and whelped right here with us, so he and Sheila are kinda special to us here at Skylocke.  Jamie's lead is lightweight, mostly Czech Crystal Rondelles, with a Paula Radke Dichroic center bead flanked by Czech Faceted Glass Roller Beads and diamond cut silver rounds.

This is ONE NIGHT IN RIO (which, by the way is also Jamie's registered name)

We're outa here and off to get ready for the day's running around.  Gonna be a busy one, and have to see if I can find some PURPLE.....REAL purple....... beads for a custm designed lead for a client.  Purple is sooooo hard to come by.  I have Donna Ballard working on a couple new Lampwork ones with BRIGHT and vivid Purple Dichroic in them, so we have high hopes.  If she can manage it, I'm sure you'll see the beads....and the lead.....on FB, on our Leads webpage, as well as probably here.  (Overkill??)  Sigh......

By the way, anyone interested in a lovely custom-made Kangaroo lead......made to YOUR specifications and color theme....... designed and configured to YOUR dog and YOUR tastes...
You can contact me by email or on FB and we can talk via email and pictures till everyone is happy with the finished design an lead.

Oh, by the way, the 40 pound weight loss is holding.  Checked the scales this morning and didn't gain any of it back so far.  That's 40# in 90 days.  Can I say "I'm, rather pleased with myself" ?  Yeah, I did.....sorry about that.

Have a great day!!
